As we reported last week, the SEC and CFTC have taken action against Banc de Binay for allegedly violated several federal laws with regard to soliciting US traders to trade Binary Options without the proper licensing. There had been immediate speculation as to how these lawsuits would affect other brokers that deal with US traders.
In the days following the new,s a couple of smaller brokers such as Binary360 had decided not to take on US accounts. It appears that 24option is the first of the major Binary brands to refuse US traders based on the Banc de Binary news. As of yesterday 24option has announced that they will no longer be accepting US trading accounts. It remains to be seen if other top brokers will be following the lead of 24option.
